Lombok – In an effort to improve the quality of teachers and education personnel, SEAQiM together with LPMP NTB conducted a training from 28 November to 2 December 2016. A total of 40 teachers and education personnel attended the event which focused on joyful learning in mathematics education.
Under the MoU signed by the Director of SEAQiM, Prof. Subanar, Ph.D, and the Head of LPMP NTB, Mr. Muhammad Irfan, the two institutions will hand in hand work on the improvement of mathematics education in NTB.

“Mathematics and its teachers have been the scariest thing in my school life”, told Mr. Irfan in opening speech. Nowadays, it still happens to many other students.
During the training, SEAQiM’s experts got the belief straighten out. The participants were introduced to teach mathematics joyfully and meaningfully. Dr. Wahyudi played Magic Card to draw their attention on how mathematics can be implemented.
“Mathematics can be fun. There are many ways in teaching it such as through games and arts”, Dr. Wahyudi emphasized.
Dr. Wahyudi also talked about Outdoor Mathematics that really engaged participants’ interest. In groups, they were asked to count the circumference of any object found in the classroom.
By the third day, each group got the opportunity to present their works. Various interactive lesson designs were developed and discussed.

The training ended on 2 December 2016. “You are all superheroes” Dr. Wahyudi said as he closed the training officially.
