Yogyakarta, 5 March 2025 – In continuous cooperation to integrate digital innovation into mathematics education, SEAQiM, in collaboration with Universitas Muria Kudus (UMK), successfully conducted day one of the Workshop Inovasi Pembelajaran Matematika Digital: Pemanfaatan Mathigon, GeoGebra, dan Desmos. This event, which will be held online through Zoom meeting from March 5 to 7 and will conclude on March 10, 2025, provided an invaluable opportunity for thirty-eight (38) prospective mathematics educators from UMK to explore interactive and engaging teaching methods through digital tools.
Dr. Sumaji, Head of the Mathematics Education Department at UMK, expressed his appreciation for the ongoing collaboration with SEAQiM. “We are immensely grateful for this continued partnership with SEAQiM. This training is crucial for their professional development as future teachers, equipping them with digital tools to enhance student engagement.”
SEAQiM Director Dr. Sumardyono, in his opening remark, emphasized the workshop’s long-term impact: “After completing these sessions, we hope participants gain specialized insights that they can further implement in their classrooms. We look forward to sustaining this collaboration in the future, as in the 21st century, mathematics education has a profound impact, and we must continue to adapt.”
The workshop featured SEAQiM academic team sessions designed to introduce participants to a range of interactive digital mathematics applications, including Exploration of Digital Activities with Desmos, Interactive Manipulative Media using Mathigon, and Interactive Manipulative Media using GeoGebra. The last day will end with the Development of Interactive Manipulative Media for Mathematics Learning.
Throughout the day-one sessions, participants actively engaged in hands-on activities, exploring the functionalities of Desmos. These platforms enable dynamic learning, transforming traditional mathematics instruction into an engaging and interactive experience.
