Ethnomatematics focuses on how mathematics grows and develops in a culture, and in practice has exposed a lot of links between mathematics and art. As an example is macapat, a form of traditional Javanese song or poetry, which can be used to introduce plane figures to students, while preserving their mother tongue and local culture.
Learning activities comprise the how-to of teaching the students to learn easily and driven by their own will, which is manifested in the curriculum as the needs of students. Learning should describe the values contained in the curriculum by analyzing the learning objectives and the characteristics of the content of the field of study.
