Jakarta – The Centre for Research and Development, MoEC of Indonesia, in collaboration with SEAMEO Secretariat, SEAQiM, SEAQiS, and SEAMOLEC, hosted Workshop on STEM and Industrial Revolution 4.0 in the MoEC Office on 13 December 2018.
In his opening speech, Dr. Totok Suprayitno, the Head of Centre for Research and Development said, “The journey of learning is the most important process for preparing the future. To face the Industrial Revolution 4.0, we must encourage our children to develop problem solving by themselves. That is why the STEM education is very essential”.
A number of participants coming from the representatives of the MoEC, educators, policy makers, teachers and education personnel in Indonesia at all levels participated in this event. The workshop talked about several issues covering the policy of education quality and teachers roles in implementing STEM. It also invited some chosen education institutions in Indonesia to share their best practices in implementing STEM.
Invited as one of the speaker of the workshop, SEAQiM Director, Dr. Wahyudi shared experiences about “Kampung STEM”, the Centre’s initiative project to introduce STEM development activities to its neighbourhood.
At the very same time, the host organizers also mounted an exhibition to show STEM products.
