SEAQiM Welcomes Eight Interns from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta, 22 July 2026 – SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics (SEAQiM) welcomed eight students from the Educational Technology Study Programme, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) for their internship programme at the Centre.

The internship placement was attended by the Field Supervisor, Dr Suryatiningsih, S.Pd., M.Pd., and was warmly received by the Director of SEAQiM, Dr Sri Wulandari Danoebroto; the Deputy Director for Administration, Dr Samsul Hadi; Mr Febriarto Cahyo Nugroho, Head of the Partnership Division; and members of the division.

In her remarks, Dr Suryatiningsih expressed her sincere appreciation to SEAQiM for providing an opportunity for the eight students to undertake their internship for the next two and a half months. She encouraged the students to make the most of their internship by gaining practical knowledge and experience and applying the knowledge and skills they had received during their preparation at UNY. She also expressed hope that the students would actively participate, learn from the SEAQiM team, and benefit from the guidance and support provided throughout their internship.

Welcoming the students, Dr Sri Wulandari Danoebroto expressed her appreciation to UNY for choosing SEAQiM as a place for the students to learn and gain professional experience. She also hoped that the interns would make meaningful contributions while being assigned to several divisions at SEAQiM.

Dr Sri highlighted that the internship would provide valuable opportunities for the students to experience a professional working environment, particularly in the field of educational media and communication. She encouraged the interns to contribute their ideas and creativity to support SEAQiM’s programmes and activities, in line with the Centre’s branding and the spirit of “Math is Fun.”

Through this internship programme, SEAQiM and UNY are expected to strengthen their collaboration while providing the eight students with hands-on experience that connects academic learning to professional practice in educational technology.
