Yogyakarta – Today, 30 mathematics teachers are learning about writing a scientific article. The session is facilitated by Dr. Rully Charitas Indra Prahmana from Ahmad Dahlan University, Indonesia. This is the sixth of the overall seven sessions of Online Workshop on Academic Writing hosted by SEAQiM. The programme aims to provide junior and senior secondary school mathematics teachers in Indonesia with sufficient knowledge of research publication.
In addition to Dr. Rully Charitas Indra Prahmana, the Centre has invited Dr. Bambang Sumintomo from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. He delivered some materials related to research in mathematics education and data analysis in academic writing. Dr. Sumardyono, SEAQiM Director, and Mr. Wahid Yunianto, SEAQiM Specialist Coordinator, also take part in this virtual event as facilitator. Dr. Sumardyono presented an introduction to academic writing in the first session and further discussed with the participants the skills needed in writing.
The Online Workshop of Academic Writing began on May 1, and is regularly conducted twice in a week, every Tuesday and Friday. The closing session, to be held on May 22, will be facilitated by Mr. Wahid Yunianto with a presentation entitled Finding Scientific Resources, Citation, and Referencing Style.
