Yogyakarta – SEAQiM successfully conducted its Online Course on Community Learning of Pilot School. This parallel virtual event, held between 24 and 26 March 2021, was participated by the teachers of SD 1 Bantul, SMP N 4 Depok, and SMA N 7 Yogyakarta and officially opened by Dr Sumardyono, SEAQiM Director.
The Centre has initiated a Pilot School (Sekolah Percontohan) programme since 2020 to show its commitment to the quality improvement of mathematics education, particularly in Yogyakarta. For the time being, it initially focuses on three of SEAQiM’s topic of expertise: Southeast Asia Realistic Mathematics Education, STEM for Mathematics Learning, and Integrating ICT in Mathematics Education.
This Online Course on Community Learning of Pilot School featured some experts in the field, such as Ms Nila Mareta Murdiyani (Yogyakarta State University), Dr Rini Oktavia (Syiah Kuala University), Mr Yosep Dwi Kristanto (Sanata Dharma University) and Dr.rer.nat Adi Nur Cahyono (Semarang State University). The participants also had a sharing session with three SEAQiM invited alumnae to share some best practices in classroom mathematics teaching and learning.
