Yogyakarta – Thirty junior high school mathematics teachers join the STEM Camp, a programme organized by SEAQiM to introduce STEM education approach in classroom mathematics teaching. The event takes place at Rumah Budaya Tembi, Yogyakarta, and will be conducted until 22 February 2019.
The STEM Camp was officially opened today, 18 February 2019, by Dr Wahyudi, the Director of SEAQiM. “Let’s make this great opportunity to arouse your curiosity to learn about STEM and establish networking among math teachers”, said Dr Wahyudi in his opening speech.
Appointed as the resource person in this STEM Camp is Prof Yoshisuke Kumano from the Shizouka University, Japan. This is the part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan yearly contribution entitled “MEXT’s Dispatched Expert Programme to SEAMEO Centres”.
Further in this Math Camp, the participants, who mostly come from Yogyakarta and its surrounding, will also engage in some outdoor STEM challenges activities facilitated by SEAQiM academic team.
