Jakarta, December 19, 2024 — SEAQiM, in collaboration with SEAMEO Centers in Indonesia, showcased its commitment to advancing education at the Education Exhibition held as part of the SEAMEO CECCEP event. The exhibition, hosted at Building A of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Jakarta, carried the theme Launch Event for Policy Brief on Early Childhood Development in Southeast Asia, GEMBIRA Parenting Module, and AnakIng App.
SEAQiM’s booth became a highlight of the event, drawing significant attention with its interactive and innovative approach. The presence of SEAQiM’s Director, Dr. Sumardyono, engaging directly with visitors using captivating math tricks, created a lively and welcoming atmosphere. The booth showcased an array of SEAQiM’s initiatives, including collections of journals, eco-print catalogues, training flyers, and other resources.
A standout feature of the booth was its interactive math-based games, such as the Jumping Frog, Magic Card, and Hanoi Tower. These activities sparked curiosity among visitors, who eagerly participated and explored the mathematical principles behind the games. Dr. Sumardyono personally shared insights into the concepts, fostering a deeper appreciation for integrating mathematics into fun and engaging activities.
The exhibition also served as a platform to strengthen partnerships and expand SEAQiM’s network. Many visitors expressed interest in collaborating with SEAQiM on teacher training programs tailored to their regions, reflecting the Center’s growing influence. Additionally, some visitors showed enthusiasm to contribute as writers or contributors to SEAQiM’s bulletin, SEAMTERICAL, further demonstrating the event’s success in inspiring educational dialogue and collaboration.
Through its dynamic presence at the exhibition, SEAQiM highlighted its educational innovations and reinforced its role as a key driver of mathematics education excellence in Southeast Asia.
