SEAQiM Successfully Held a Virtual Workshop on Academic Writing

Yogyakarta – SEAQiM had the pleasure to invite the paper presenters of the International Joint Conference on STEM Education (IJCSE) “STEM Education Pathway Through the Crisis” to a four-day Workshop on Academic Writing, conducted virtually between 15 and 18 February 2021.

This programme was participated by 52 participants of three categories (mathematics, science, and STEM) from across SEAMEO Member Countries and beyond. At the opening ceremony, SEAQiM Director, Dr Sumardyono, encouraged the participants, saying that “Through this workshop, the participants are expected to learn how to develop and improve better academic articles in the field of mathematics, science, and stem.”

The workshop featured four facilitators, namely: (1) Dr Rully Charitas Indra Prahmana (Ahmad Dahlan University), (2) Dr Wahyu Hidayat (IKIP Siliwangi), (3) Dr Sri Adi Widodo (Sarjanawiyata Taman Siswa University), and (4) Dr Muhammad Irfan (Sarjanawiyata Taman Siswa University). They share some topics on introduction to IOP, developing introduction, literature review, research methods, abstract, referencing, and citation to enhance and enrich participants’ academic writing.

Following the activity, they will be coached regularly by the SEAQiM Academic team, after which the selected papers will be published in the IOP Journal of Physics indexed by Scopus. The workshop officially closed by Dr Farida Nurhasanah, SEAQiM Deputy Director for Programme.
