Yogyakarta – February 27, 2024, SEAQiM is honoured to welcome the visit of Dr. Rachmadi Widdiharto, Director of Teachers for Primary and Secondary Education, Directorate General of Teachers and Education Personnel, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (MoECRT) of Indonesia, as well as a governing board member of SEAQiM. This visit was warmly welcomed by Ms Puji Iryanti, Deputy Director for Administration of SEAQiM. Along with his secretary, Dr Rachmadi socialized the “Kurikulum Merdeka”, which will be implemented nationally and in stage to 2026/2027.
“Kurikulum Merdeka” is one of the priority programs of MoECRT of Indonesia. Focusing on transforming education nationwide, MoECRT has intensified efforts to socialize the “Kurikulum Merdeka”, empowering students with relevant skills and fostering a dynamic learning environment to the demands of the 21st century. “To support the recent curriculum, MoECRT is boosting the numeracy program; therefore, support and contribution from all parties are needed”, Dr Rachmadi added. Ms Puji Iryanti expressed her unwavering commitment on behalf of SEAQiM to strengthening numeracy, which marks a significant milestone in Indonesia’s educational transformation.
In the end, SEAQiM will always be supported by MoE to make a significant contribution to improving the quality of education and services, especially for mathematics education in Southeast Asia, towards a brighter future for generations to come.
