Jakarta, Indonesia – On Thursday, 9 April 2026, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia, in collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariat and the SEAMEO Secretariat-SEAMEO CECCEP), officially launched the ASEAN-SEAMEO Joint Roadmap on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) in Southeast Asia. This strategic document serves as a comprehensive framework to guide the planning, implementation, and development of early childhood care and education at both national and regional levels.
The launch event was attended by high-level government officials, representatives of ASEAN Member States, international organizations, academics, and partner institutions, reflecting a strong regional commitment to advancing early childhood education.
As part of the event, the SEAMEO Regional Centre for QITEP in Mathematics (SEAQiM) participated in the exhibition alongside other SEAMEO Centres in Indonesia. SEAQiM presented its flagship programmes, emphasizing the promotion of joyful and meaningful mathematics learning through interactive approaches, including the Numeracy Corner and STEAM Village.
Mr. Jatnika Hermawan, Ph.D., Deputy Director for Programme, together with Ms. Lely Dian Puspita from the Partnership, International Public Relations and Marketing Division, and Mr. Eko Nugroho from the Teaching and Learning Resources Material Development Division, represented SEAQiM in welcoming distinguished delegates to the exhibition booth. Notable visitors included the Vice Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Prof. Atip Latipulhayat; the Director of the SEAMEO Secretariat, Dr. Habibah Abdul Rahim; Mr. Kurniawan, Director of Early Childhood Education; as well as other stakeholders in the field of early childhood education.
SEAQiM’s participation in the exhibition effectively demonstrated its commitment to supporting inclusive, engaging, and relevant mathematics learning, particularly in contributing to the advancement of early childhood education across Southeast Asia.
