Yogyakarta, 15 June 2026 – SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics (SEAQiM) welcomed a delegation from the Love and Wisdom Global Citizens Community at its office in Yogyakarta. The delegation was led by Ms. Diana Herawati, Founder and Coordinator of the community, accompanied by Ms. Tiwi, Ms. Fitri, and Mr. Puji Harsono.
The visit served as an opportunity to discuss potential collaboration in promoting global citizenship education, strengthening numeracy, and empowering educational communities. During the meeting, Ms. Diana introduced the community’s initiatives, including partnerships with schools in Thailand through sister-school programs, homestay-based learning activities, and educational projects supported by National Geographic using storytelling and StoryMap platforms.
SEAQiM Director, Dr. Sri Wulandari Danoebroto, presented SEAQiM’s role as a SEAMEO regional centre dedicated to improving mathematics education across Southeast Asia. She highlighted the importance of contextual learning, global awareness, and environmental sustainability in developing meaningful educational experiences for students.
The discussion also covered challenges in mathematics education, community-based learning initiatives, and opportunities for future collaboration. Participants exchanged ideas on teacher development, student engagement, and the integration of numeracy across different subject areas.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening networks and exploring collaborative programs that can contribute to quality education and sustainable development in the region.
