On November 25, 2024, SEAQiM (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Quality Improvement of Teachers and Education Personnel in Mathematics) conducted a Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) activity for Randha Ayu Nurlianadewi, an alumna of the Regular Course on Differentiated Instruction in Mathematics Education for Senior High School Mathematics Teachers. This event occurred at SMA Negeri 1 Karangkobar, Banjarnegara, Central Java, where the alumna teaches.
The Monev aimed to assess how the alumna has applied the Differentiated Instruction (DI) techniques learned during the SEAQiM training into her teaching practice. The activity involved interviews with Randha Ayu, Principal Ibnu Rohmadi, Vice Principal Ibu Fatonah, and the students. Additionally, SEAQiM conducted classroom observations to see how the concepts taught during the training were being implemented in everyday teaching.
In the lesson led by Randha Ayu, students learned mathematical concepts such as Domain, Codomain, and Range. These concepts were taught using a differentiated approach, where students worked to identify and visualize these mathematical functions in a deeper and more accessible way.
The principal of SMA Negeri 1 Karangkobar, Ibnu Rohmadi, warmly welcomed SEAQiM’s presence and fully supported the program. He highlighted how the training not only enhances the quality of teaching at the school but also directly benefits students by helping them understand mathematics more engagingly and effectively.
This Monitoring and Evaluation activity is part of SEAQiM’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that teachers’ training is successfully applied in the classroom. By continuously monitoring the implementation and providing direct support to alumni, SEAQiM aims to improve the quality of mathematics education across Southeast Asia.
