Yogyakarta, Indonesia, 8 October 2025 – The SEAMEO Regional Centre for QITEP in Mathematics (SEAQiM) officially opened the Regular Course on Clinical Supervision in Mathematics Education for School Principals and Supervisors, a two-week regional capacity improvement program that runs from 8 to 21 October 2025. The virtual opening ceremony brought together 31 education leaders, consisting of school principals and supervisors from SEAMEO member countries, including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.<\/p>\n
In her welcoming address, Dr. Sri Wulandari Danoebroto, Director of SEAQiM, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the participants for their continued commitment to improving mathematics education in the region. She emphasized that the essence of clinical supervision lies not only in monitoring but in fostering professional growth through mentorship, reflection, and collaboration.<\/p>\n
\u201cEffective supervision,\u201d Dr. Wulan highlighted, is a dynamic and collaborative process of mentorship and professional development. It is the framework through which we empower our teachers to grow, ensure the well-being of those they serve, and uphold the highest standards of our profession.\u201d<\/p>\n
She further noted that the course is a crucial step in SEAQiM\u2019s ongoing efforts to enhance the competencies of mathematics educators and educational leaders, particularly in promoting reflective teaching and evidence-based practices. The Director encouraged all participants to approach the program with open minds and a spirit of shared learning, building not just skills but also a regional network of professional support.<\/p>\n

The Regular Course on Clinical Supervision in Mathematics Education is designed to strengthen the participants\u2019 ability to support mathematics teachers through structured supervision processes focused on reflection, observation, and feedback. The program comprises 100 learning hours across synchronous and asynchronous modes, following SEAQiM\u2019s signature \u201cIn\u2013On\u2013In\u201d training model, which seamlessly integrates theoretical understanding with real-world application.<\/p>\n
Throughout the course, participants will explore a diverse range of topics led by distinguished facilitators from SEAQiM, Yogyakarta State University, Malang State University, the National Institute of Education (Singapore), Johannes Kepler University (Austria), and BBGTK DIY.<\/p>\n
