That day\u2019s seminar was a series of the Centre\u2019s DRR programme in this year.\u00a0 Some activities including preparation of research proposal and instruments, implementation of research, and analysis of research result had been conducted prior to this seminar.<\/p>\n<p>More than fifty mathematics teachers joined in this seminar.\u00a0 The Centre also invited four paper presenters who had previously conducted the research on landslide in their respective schools. They were Mr. Vikrama Anindito (SD Muhammadiyah Sapen), Ms. Windarti (SMP Muhammadiyah Boarding School), Ms. Meyra Dwi Nugrahaningsih (SMAN 4 Surakarta) and Mr. Agus Margono (SMPN 1 Yogyakarta). During the research, they were all guided by the specialists from SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics.<\/p>\n<p>In the opening remark, Prof. Subanar, Ph.D., the Director of SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics, said that mathematics also contained the knowledge of forecasting. The integration of DRR into mathematics lesson was undoubtedly important. Thus, education can play significant role in reducing the unnecessary victims by improving people\u2019s awareness on the disaster through DRR. At schools, students must be given the knowledge to anticipate disaster and predict its risk.<\/p>\n<p>Through the seminar, SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics wanted to provide mathematics teachers with a forum for presenting and discussing landslide. \u00a0This goal of this seminar was greatly achieved. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the participants to respond the presentations. At the end, Dr. Wahyudi, the Deputy Director of SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics, presented the road map taken by the Centre to integrate DRR into mathematics lesson according to \u201cKurikulum 2013\u201d.
