{"id":7052,"date":"2025-05-30T17:29:24","date_gmt":"2025-05-30T10:29:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.qitepinmath.org\/en\/?p=7052"},"modified":"2025-07-16T17:32:27","modified_gmt":"2025-07-16T10:32:27","slug":"seaqim-hosts-workshop-to-enhance-seamej-toward-scopus-accreditation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.qitepinmath.org\/en\/our-news\/seaqim-hosts-workshop-to-enhance-seamej-toward-scopus-accreditation\/","title":{"rendered":"SEAQiM Hosts Workshop to Enhance SEAMEJ Toward Scopus Accreditation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yogyakarta, 27\u201328 May 2025 \u2014 SEAQiM held a two-day virtual workshop titled &#8220;Workshop Pengelolaan Sistem Journal SEAMEJ&#8221;, aimed at enhancing the Southeast Asian Mathematics Education Journal (SEAMEJ) toward international recognition through Scopus accreditation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Held via Zoom, the workshop brought together SEAMEJ\u2019s editorial team, including managing and section editors, as well as journal administrators to strengthen the journal\u2019s management systems and align with international publishing standards. The event featured renowned speakers from leading Scopus-indexed journals in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his opening address, Ms Puji Iryanti, Deputy Director for Administration of SEAQiM emphasized the importance of academic publishing in advancing mathematics education in Southeast Asia. The workshop was formally opened by Prof. Masitah Shahrill from Universiti Brunei Darussalam, who highlighted the important role of regional collaboration in journal development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first day of the workshop featured insightful sessions by Prof. Zulkardi from Universitas Sriwijaya, Editor of the Journal on Mathematics Education, who shared best practices in professional journal management and strategies for Scopus accreditation. This was followed by internal discussions led by the SEAMEJ Managing Editor to assess current practices and identify areas for improvement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the second day, experts from SEAMEO BIOTROP, Prof. Dr. Bambang Purwantara from Intstitut Pertanian Bogor, presented the management experience of BIOTROPIA, another Scopus-indexed SEAMEO journal, offering valuable perspectives on editorial workflows and quality assurance. Accompanied by Mr Haritz Cahya Nugraha from SEAMEO BIOTROP, their presentation identified areas for improvement in the management of SEAMEJ.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop concluded with a focused discussion on compiling a comprehensive improvement plan for SEAMEJ.
