Bogor, November 25, 2024 \u2013 SEAQiM continued to conduct a series of Alumni Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) visits at SMP 6 Kota Bogor. The event brought SEAQiM representatives Ms Miftahul Hidayah, Mr Agus Limbang Wardani, and Ms Caecilia Cahyaningsih to Bogor and provided valuable insights into the long-term effects of SEAQiM training programs on schools, teachers, and communities.<\/p>\n
The event began with a warm welcome from Ms Siti Amalia, an SEAQiM alumnus of the the Regular Course on Integrating ICT in Mathematics Education for Junior High School Mathematics Teachers and currently a mathematics teacher for grades 7 and 8. The session started with observing a Grade 7C algebra class, showcasing dynamic teaching strategies inspired by SEAQiM\u2019s methods during the course.<\/p>\n
The students demonstrated high engagement during the session, reflecting the positive impact of innovative numeracy teaching practices. Following the class observation, SEAQiM delegates conducted interviews with various respondents, including three students who shared how the new teaching approaches had deepened their understanding of mathematics and made learning more enjoyable and three teachers who discussed the practical applications of SEAQiM\u2019s training in their classrooms and the collaborative spirit it fostered among the teaching staff. Also, alumni highlighted the long-term benefits of their training, its impact on their professional growth, and their ability to contribute to the school community.<\/p>\n
The interviews provided a comprehensive view of how SEAQiM\u2019s initiatives have empowered educators to enhance student learning outcomes and build strong numeracy. The visit concluded with a heartfelt message from Mr Dedi Husnaeni, M.Pd., the Principal of SMP 6 Bogor. He expressed deep gratitude to SEAQiM for their ongoing support and collaboration.<\/p>\n
\u201cSMP 6 Bogor\u2019s students come from lower-middle-income backgrounds. Despite these challenges, we are committed to providing quality education. With 27 classes and up to 38 students per class, SEAQiM\u2019s programs have been invaluable in helping our teachers address the diverse needs of our students.\u201d Principal underscored.<\/p>\n
The monev session at SMP 6 Bogor is part of SEAQiM\u2019s broader strategy to continuously evaluate and enhance its training programs. By gathering feedback from alumni and stakeholders, SEAQiM can refine its approaches and ensure that its initiatives remain relevant and impactful.
