The recently concluded 2nd SEAMEO Strategic Workshop on Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) is a testament to this dedication. Held on March 27-28, 2024, at the Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, this event brought together key stakeholders to strategise and synergise regional educational efforts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Led by Dr. Datuk Habibah Abdur Rahim, Director of SEAMEO Secretariat, the workshop commenced with an insightful overview of the purpose and phases of developing the MEL System within SEAMEO. The event fostered a collaborative environment for knowledge exchange and capacity building, attended by SEAMEO Centre and Network Directors, SEAMEO Secretariat officials, representatives from the British Council, and MEL experts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Facilitated by Bart van Halteren, Regional Director Asia at MDF Asia, the workshop spanned two days of intensive discussions and activities. The first day focused on aligning SEAMEO Strategic Plans with Result Frameworks and FYDPs, ensuring coherence and effectiveness in educational initiatives. The second day delved into crafting robust MEL strategies, incorporating SMART indicators and addressing gender-related issues in achievement assessments. Various methodologies such as Fishbowl discussions, world caf\u00e9 sessions, and group presentations enriched the learning experience throughout the event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop concluded with a comprehensive review of key takeaways. It proposed follow-up actions to sustain momentum and maximise impact. It underscored the importance of continuous monitoring and evaluation to enhance program effectiveness and ensure the holistic development of education in the region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;\">The 2nd SEAMEO Strategic Workshop on Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning exemplified SEAMEO&#8217;s unwavering commitment to advancing educational excellence and fostering regional cooperation.
