{"id":6069,"date":"2023-11-24T09:40:47","date_gmt":"2023-11-24T02:40:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.qitepinmath.org\/en\/?p=6069"},"modified":"2025-10-09T14:23:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-09T07:23:11","slug":"2nd-phase-stop-implementasi-bahan-ajar-stem-ct-at-smp-n-1-sleman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.qitepinmath.org\/en\/our-news\/2nd-phase-stop-implementasi-bahan-ajar-stem-ct-at-smp-n-1-sleman\/","title":{"rendered":"2nd Phase Stop, \u201cImplementasi Bahan Ajar STEM-CT\u201d at SMP N 1 Sleman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 6.0pt 0cm;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif; color: #0e101a; font-weight: normal;\">Yogyakarta \u2013 Continuing its efforts to introduce and promote STEM plus Computational Thinking (STEM-CT) by providing STEM-CT learning materials in Indonesian that can be accessed by teachers for free and used in their classes, SEAQiM successfully conducted\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><em><span style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif; color: #0e101a;\">\u201cImplementasi Bahan Ajar STEM-CT\u201d<\/span><\/em><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif; color: #0e101a; font-weight: normal;\">\u00a0onsite on 21 and 23 November 2023 at SMP N 1 Sleman, Yogyakarta. The activities come with lesson plans, worksheets, and supplementary materials related to STEM-CT implementation.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 6.0pt 0cm;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif; color: #0e101a; font-weight: normal;\">SEAQiM academic team presented student assessments on STEM+CT materials in well-packaged STEM-CT materials, a Pendulum Swing and Wind Powered Sailing Boat. On 21 November 2023, students of SMPN 1 Sleman explored data collection and analysis, combined with the science part of investigating the pendulum motion and pattern recognition through the Pendulum Swing activity, facilitated by Ms Wisnuningtyas Wirani, the SEAQiM training specialist. In this activity, students will work in groups to determine which factors, angle, length, or mass, will affect the period of a pendulum. They will discover what part can affect the period through several experiments. Near the end of this project, the challenge will be for each group to create a pendulum of period 1 second by using the knowledge they\u2019ve gained through prior experiments. The students were actively involved in the discussion throughout the activity.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 6.0pt 0cm;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif; color: #0e101a; font-weight: normal;\">The Wind Powered Sailing Boat activity was practised on students on 23 November 2023 at SMP N 1 Sleman Hall facilitated by Ms Uki Rahmawati, a SEAQiM academic team. The students were invited to explore the engineering design process to design and build a sailboat with many forms and shapes of paper sail. In the activity, students investigated which shape of paper sail (trapezoid, triangle, and rectangle) could send boats fastest sailing over a track distance of 1.5 meters with the static wind. Then, students must build a boat to hold a specific surface area sail from their previous observations and incorporate aerodynamic principles to make it move and pattern recognition. This activity combines science, mathematics, and computational thinking through applying the engineering design process and connecting mathematics topics to real-world applications. The whole activity shows them step-by-step how to run the activity and gives them a better understanding of the STEM and CT behind it.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: 'Cambria',serif; color: #0e101a; font-weight: normal;\">This implementation phase featured four (4) of seven (7) developed learning materials related to STEM-CT by SEAQiM. After this stage, SEAQiM plans to publish those learning materials officially.
