Together, they have orchestrated a groundbreaking event that has captured the attention of the education community. The &#8220;Customized Course on Integrating ICT in Mathematics Learning and STEM for Mathematics Learning&#8221; unfolded virtually over two inspiring days, August 15-16, 2023.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5996 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.qitepinmath.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/unj13-300x188.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.qitepinmath.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/unj13-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.qitepinmath.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/unj13.jpg 413w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gathering a cohort of 21 postgraduate students and 2 esteemed lecturers, the course marked its inauguration with esteemed presence, including Dr. Sri Wulandari Danoebroto, Deputy Director for Programme SEAQiM, Dr. Makmuri, M.Sc. the coordinator of the Mathematics Education master program at UNJ, and other distinguished SEAQiM and committee members. The opening ceremony was not only a celebration of educational collaboration but also a platform to recognize the strategic significance of the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) paradigms within mathematics education.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Makmuri, M.Sc., coordinator of the Mathematics Education master program, commended the participants for their proactive planning and negotiation skills, underlining the importance of initiatives like these in shaping future math educators. He emphasized the insightful choice of collaborating with SEAQiM, an institution renowned for its commitment to enriching knowledge and experience in the realm of mathematics education.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Sri Wulandari Danoebroto, in her inaugural address, eloquently highlighted the current and future relevance of ICT and STEM in revolutionizing mathematics education. The carefully curated curriculum of the course seamlessly intertwined STEM principles with the independent curriculum, thereby nurturing not only mathematical skills but also values central to Indonesian culture. The alignment of STEM with Pancasila values was especially emphasized, enhancing the societal significance of this educational innovation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Leading experts in the field, Ms. Ummy Salmah and Mr. Gusnandar Yoga Utama, facilitated engaging sessions that delved into diverse topics such as &#8220;Teaching Mathematics with GeoGebra,&#8221; &#8220;Crafting Innovative ICT Learning Media,&#8221; &#8220;Exploring Dynamic STEM Activities,&#8221; and &#8220;Infusing STEM into the Indonesian Curriculum.&#8221; A standout feature of the course was the participatory approach: participants were divided into breakout rooms to collaboratively design a GeoGebra-based learning aplet, which was later showcased in a collaborative culmination session. The second day witnessed the entire cohort converging virtually to actively participate in STEM activities, bridging geographical distances through a shared enthusiasm for hands-on learning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Undoubtedly, this initiative has opened new doors of insight for Mathematics Education students, aligning seamlessly with SEAQiM&#8217;s overarching mission to disseminate superior professional mathematics education and services across SEAMEO Member Countries.
