The Governing Board Meeting (GBM) conducts to seek recommendations, inputs, and approval from the Governing Board Members regarding the accomplishment of the Centre within one fiscal year (FY 2021\/2022) and the proposed programmes of SEAQiM for the next fiscal year (FY 2022\/2023).<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-ID\" style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif; color: #0e101a;\">Eight of eleven Governing Board (GB) Members from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam attended the annual meeting, as well as the delegates and representatives from SEAMEO Secretariat Thailand, Ministry of Education Culture Research and Technology Republic of Indonesia (MoECRT) and Balai Besar Guru Penggerak Provinsi DIY\/ Professional Developments Centre for Educators in Yogyakarta Province.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-ID\" style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif; color: #0e101a;\">The meeting was officially opened by the Secretariat General of MoECRT, represented by The Head of the Bureau of Cooperation and Public Relations, Mr Anang Ristanto. In his remark, he said that The MoERCT hoped that SEAQiM would always be the leading Centre to improve the quality of mathematics education in the Southeast Asian region. Furthermore, Dr Nithiananthini Kumarawel, the Learning Innovation and Information Specialist as the representative of the SEAMES Director, appreciated the Centre\u2019s dedication to the region and stated that SEAMES offer full support for SEAQiM\u2019s programmes.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-ID\" style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif; color: #0e101a;\">At the beginning of the meeting, The Governing Board unanimously agreed to the election of a GB Member from Cambodia, Dr Hun Kanal, as the Chairperson and GB Member from Brunei Darussalam, Ms Dayang Siti Salmiah Binti Awg Abas, as the Vice-Chairperson and GB Member from Vietnam, Assoc. Prof. Le Cong Trinh, as the Chief Rapporteur for the 13th GBM.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-ID\" style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif; color: #0e101a;\">The Centre submitted ten working papers, including the annual report, financial report, proposed programmes and centre collaboration. The Governing Board agreed to adopt the suggestions and recommendations for all the Working Papers. Furthermore, the Centre feels honoured to receive valuable feedback from Dr Ethel Agnes Pascua Valenzuela, SEAMES Director, who emphasized the importance of seeking consent from alumni.
