Prof. Maarten Dolk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"isPasted\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">After a couple of years, Assoc. Prof. Dr Maarten Dolk from Utrecht University, the Netherlands, finally returned to SEAQiM-Yogyakarta. Today, October 20, 2022, he brings a beautiful experience well-packaged in a one-day &#8220;Seminar on Supporting the Development of Numeracy&#8221; for Primary School Teachers. The event is conducted offline in the Conference Room, SEAQiM, and streamed live on the SEAQiM YouTube channel. A total of 21 (twenty-one) participants consisting of selected primary school teachers in Yogyakarta and invited participants from BBGP D.I.Yogyakarta joined the event live at the venue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the seminar, the participants experienced being a thinker and discussed several students&#8217; errors and teaching issues. YouTube viewers participated actively and raised intriguing questions. The teachers are provided with numeracy and number sense introduction and more about learning numeracy activities for primary school students. From here, teachers are expected to learn and get inspired to adapt how to teach joyful numeracy in the classroom. Some SEAQiM training specialists also enlivened the session and actively participated during the activity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;We learned more about numeracy for primary school students during a three-hour session. We hope to have this kind of seminar again. And support the students in applying mathematics in daily life and contributing to a better society&#8221;, said Mr Pri Agung Handayani, one of the participants from SD Negeri Lempuyangan 1, Yogyakarta. In line with the expectations of the educators, Dr Sumardyono, the Director of SEAQiM, expressed his continuous support to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (MoECRT) of Indonesia in his opening remark.
