After successfully organizing the first international webinar series last September, SEAQiM held its next international webinar series on the theme Lesson Learnt from the Pandemic: What we can do with technology to make mathematics learning more meaningful and joyful, Tuesday, November 3, 2020. The event aims provide updated information about the utility of technology during the pandemic, share best practices in using technology to strengthen the quality of mathematics learning, and gather opportunity for educators to foster collaboration and partnership.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event attracted more than 500 audiences not only from Southeast Asia countries but also India, USA, Taiwan, Ukraine, Italy, Canada, Greece, who joined virtually through Zoom platform and Youtube Live Streaming. SEAQiM expected the audiences to track progress and\/or challenges of using technology in mathematics learning during the pandemic, identify benefits and alternatives of using technology in mathematics learning mostly related to industrial revolution 4.0, and provide input for mathematics educators on using technology in mathematics teaching and learning.<\/span><\/p>\n

The webinar was officially opened by Evi Mulyani, Ph.D the head of the Bureau of Cooperation and Public Relation, the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Republic of Indonesia. After the opening ceremony, the three prominent keynote speakers namely Mr Timothy J. Brzezinski from GeoGebra, Dr Alison Clark-Wilson from University College London, and Dr Jonaki Ghosh from Lady Shri Ram College, successfully created a dynamic discussion with the participants. They shared much worthy knowledge of utilizing ICT in mathematics teaching, particularly during the pandemic. Their presentation was chaired by the energetic moderator, Dr. Farida Nurhasanah, who is also the Deputy Director for Programme of SEAQiM.<\/span><\/p>\n
