The APEC-Tsukuba International Conference XIII was conducted from 7 to 9 February, followed by the SEAMEO-TSUKUBA Symposium VII on February 10. University of Tsukuba, Tokyo Campus, Japan, was the venue for the both events.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Calibri Light',sans-serif;\">The APEC-Tsukuba International Conference XIII aimed to share issues for the curriculum reform. The session had three main components namely open lecture, closed meeting, and open classes on lesson study on computational and mathematical thinking. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Calibri Light',sans-serif;\">During the SEAMEO-TSUKUBA Symposium VII, Dr Wahyudi presented SEAQiM\u2019s most recent flagship programme on STEM entitled \u201cSTEM Village: Promoting and Spreading Awareness about STEM to Families and Society.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: 115%;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2179 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.qitepinmath.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/APEC-3-edit-300x188.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.qitepinmath.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/APEC-3-edit-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.qitepinmath.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/APEC-3-edit.jpg 413w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Calibri Light',sans-serif;\">\u201cOne factor pivotal in the development of students\u2019 attitudes toward STEM subjects is parental involvement\u201d, he said. \u201cThat was one of the reasons why our Centre initiated out-of school time programme known as \u201cKampung STEM Joho\u201d or \u201cJoho STEM Village\u201d, Dr Wahyudi added. His presentation generated much interest from the symposium members. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Calibri Light',sans-serif;\">Not less interesting, before talking about \u201cKampung STEM Joho\u201d, Dr Wahyudi had invited the participants\u2019 attention by having a mathematical game called MathMagic.
