Yogyakarta, 9 March 2018 – One of SEAMEO Regional Centre for QITEP in\u00a0Mathematics (SEAQiM)\u2019s activities at the beginning of this year is Course on Joyful\u00a0Learning in Mathematics Education for Primary School Teachers which is conducted on 7 to 20 March 2018.<\/p>\n
The course is participated by 30 teachers from the Philippines, Indonesia,Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Vietnam and held at SEAQiM Campus, PPPPTK Matematika Complex, Yogyakarta.<\/p>\n
For the period of two weeks the course will focus on materials on how to teach mathematics joyfully. Mathematics and Arts, Virtual Manipulative, and Outdoor\u00a0Mathematics are three of the topics that will be taught to the course participants.\u00a0Invited as the facilitators are some specialists from SEAQiM as well as two\u00a0mathematics experts namely Dr. Ariyadi Wijaya and Fadjar Sadiq, M.App.Sc.<\/p>\n
After completing the course the teachers are expected to be able to create a joyful mathematics learning atmosphere while keeping students’ active participation.\u00a0Furthermore, teachers can make use their involvement in the teachers working group to disseminate the knowledge they get during the course. As a proof of\u00a0dissemination, participants will be required to submit lesson plans and\/or description\u00a0of their teaching implementation in the classroom.<\/p>\n
