As a center for teacher and education personnel development in mathematics, SEAQiM has continued to grow and develop over the past sixteen years. SEAQiM has conducted various courses, trainings, workshops, symposiums, and research to address current issues in mathematics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">SEAQiM currently focuses on innovation in numeracy, STEM, and computational thinking (CT), conducted in collaboration with other SEAMEO centers, universities, regional government, and associations. SEAQiM has developed an instrument to capture teachers&#8217; competency profiles in technology, pedagogy, and mathematics content (TPACK). SEAQIM also develops STEM+CT teaching materials linked to global and environmental issues for sustainable development education, conducts research on the integration of CT in mathematics learning, and develops numeracy learning materials through a cultural approach to make mathematics learning joyful and meaningful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Innovation in mathematics education is needed to address current challenges such as the double-edged sword of Artificial Intelligence, the gap between digital tools and effective pedagogy, and student anxiety about mathematics.
