To help address this issue teachers can use physical objects, such as teaching aids, to make the concepts more relatable and understandable. However many teachers have limited resources and access to such teaching aids due to financial and geographical constraints. Realizing this concern, SEAQiM has developed this course to harness the creativity and innovation of teachers to produce their own teaching aids.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This course is structured so participants learn and work collaboratively to design and develop teaching aids from readily available materials.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the end of the course, participants should be able to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">understand the current issues, strategies and approaches, and the roles of teaching aids in mathematics teaching and learning;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">develop, create, and use manipulative mathematics teaching aids using simple available materials;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">implement mathematics teaching and learning by utilizing manipulative mathematics teaching aids developed by themselves.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>Course Contents\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Introduction to SEAMEO<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Current Issue in Mathematics Education<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Analysing Mathematics Primary School Curriculum and Its Media<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reflections on Mathematics Teaching Practice<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Physical Manipulatives for Mathematics Teaching and Learning<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Virtual Manipulatives for Mathematics Teaching and Learning<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Use of Mathematics Apps in Teaching and Learning Mathematics<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hypothetical Learning Trajectory<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hands-on Mathematics and Science Activities<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Low-cost Physical Mathematics Games<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mathematical Literacy<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mathematics and Arts<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Designing Media for Primary School Mathematics Teaching and Learning<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Developing Lesson Plan<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Presenting and Refining Media for Primary Mathematics Teaching and Learning<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peer Teaching<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Real Teaching<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reflection\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Writing Report\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pre- and Post-test\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Designing Action Plan<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>Facilitators<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Course facilitators are specialists and experts from SEAQiM, national or international educational institutions, as well as reputable universities in Indonesia and abroad.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Participants<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants of the course are 30 mathematics teachers selected from SEAMEO Member Countries<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Duration<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The course runs for 100 hours @45 minutes.
