STEM education will be an important knowledge for teachers in order to educate the future high-quality workforce. However, there is a considerable lack of STEM programs offered by the educational institutions in Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SEAQiM proposes to hold\u00a0 this course to answer this shortage, especially for mathematics teachers. In this course, the topic concerns the STEM for mathematics learning perspective; how teachers can implement the STEM approach in their mathematics classroom despite the content and assessment suggested by the curriculum, which often times still compartmentalize each subject. The STEM approach is an innovative and novel way of teaching mathematics, which is important in order to keep mathematics learning meaningful and joyful.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the end of the course, participants should be able to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">explain the characteristics of STEM education,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">design STEM activities for mathematics teaching and learning,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">develop and implement STEM Lesson.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>Course Contents\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Introduction to SEAMEO<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Current Issues and Trends in Mathematics Education<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Introduction to STEM Education\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Engineering Design Process\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">STEM Activities in Primary School\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mathematics in Context\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mathematical Modelling\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assessment in STEM\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Integrating Art in STEM Learning\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Problem Solving\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hypothetical Learning Trajectory\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Computational Thinking\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mathematical Literacy\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Digital Mathematics Environment\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Developing Lesson Plan\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peer teaching\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Real teaching\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reflection\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Writing group report\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pre- and Post-test\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Designing Individual Action plan\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>Facilitators<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Course facilitators are specialists and experts from SEAQiM, national or international educational institutions, as well as reputable universities in Indonesia and abroad.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Participants<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants of the course are 30 mathematics teachers selected from SEAMEO Member Countries<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Duration<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The course runs for 100 hours @45 minutes.
